On Thursday 30th December ami descended en masse to Lakes By Yoo, a fabulous estate of luxury homes in the Cotswolds. It was time to catch up with colleagues and delve into some hard earned rest and relaxation.
Not so fast … The day started strongly with a high ropes extravaganza. Waiting at the top of a 15 foot wooden tower was a zip rope across the lake. Some of the team were enthused by the prospect of launching over the lake, others might have had their eyes closed. Nonetheless, in true ami spirit we gave it our best, enjoyed and laughed about the experience later. An impressive high ropes course weaving through the tree tops proceeded this. A thoroughly enjoyable start to the day.
Once the adrenaline was out of the system we met at the foyer and got into taxis heading to the Double Red Duke, a charming 17th century coaching inn which hosted us for dinner. Secret Santa brought the Christmas cheer and some funny presents before we settled in for some dinner and drinks. The woodfired cod and espresso martinis a personal highlight.
In the morning, we met for breakfast at the lakes bar and kitchen feeling as fresh as the winter weather outside. A fry up exactly what the doctor ordered. A quick walk around the grounds followed before heading back to the office on Friday.
The trip was a great time to catch up with colleagues and celebrate another hugely successful year at ami. A huge thanks to Phillipa for her hard work planning a fantastic few days.
